MATCH#28: KHOBAR BLASTERS CC WON OVER YOUNG STAR CC BY 74 RUNS

It was a cold Friday morning and Khobar Blasters CC. were all thumbed up and determined to pull up their sleeves for their 4th victory out of 5 matches . The toss was won by Khobar Blasters who elected to bat first. The openers, Jiby Mathew and Anfin gave a good start putting up 64 on the scorecard before Jiby was caught out for 24 in a good one-handed catch by Sohail. Came in the in-form Kiran Kumar all set to stay and score big starting off with two well timed boundaries.  But KBCC soon lost Anfin (31), followed by last game half-centurion Shamnad (13) Tariq (21) and Ajmal (11) trying to raise the scoring rate. Kiran kept one end strong with his solid and classy batting. He was then joined by Elyas (23 n.o) who teamed up with Kiran (95 n.o) and ensured no more wickets were lost and finished the innings with a 6th wicket  partnership of 73 runs at 263/5 in the allotted 40 overs.

Going in to bowl with a reputation of crashing through reputed batting orders, KBCC were determined to repeat the feat here as well. The opening bowlers, Tariq and Noushad ensured the batsmen never got comfortable in scoring and Young Stars CC kept losing wickets at regular intervals. Tariq, with his excellent pace and bounce took 4 wicket while medium pacer Kumar took 2. Kiran cleaned up the middle-lower order with his spin taking 4 wickets, while Anfin and Noushad kept the other end tight with their excellent bowling. Eventually, Yung Stars CC were bundled out for 189 runs in 30 overs giving Khobar Blasters a 74 runs victory,  thereby keeping their 2nd position intact on the points table. Overall, this was an excellent team effort with 4 wins out of 5 matches and looking  forward to many more victories with the grace of Almighty Allah.

The man of the match was adjudged Kiran Kumar for his all-round performance with a blistering 95 and 4-wicket haul
