Batting first Albawardi posted a total of 269/9 in 40 overs and bowled out Gladiators on 186/9 in 32.1 overs. Albawardi’s batting was powered by a brilliant opening stand between Mohammad Shoaib ( 74 runs from 52 balls) & Feroz Khan (82 runs from 54 balls) in the first 20 overs, The second 20 overs saw the Gladiators bowlers clawing back into the game by removing some quick wickets especially Talhra Shahit (8-1-45-3) & Saif ur Rahman (8-0-44-3). But the middle and lower order batsmen especially Baseer Irshad, Sharafat Ahmed & Surakat Ahmed showed some resistance and contributed well to take Albawardi’s total to 269/9 in 40 overs.
Gladiators going in to chase the total were immediately pushed onto the back foot by some brilliant pace bowling from Mohammad Shoaib (7.1-0-26-3) & Muhsin Khan (7-0-49-2) and later Shiyad Mohammed Ali (8-0-42-3) and Raqeeb Hussain (3-0-21-2) continued further. The top scorers for Gladiators were Mohammed Iqbal with a fighting 66 from 70 balls and Talhra Shahit 55 from 37. Gladiators were bowled out on 186/10 in 32.1 overs.
Mohammad Shoaib was adjudged Man Of The Match for his brilliant all-round performance.
